Salon Steals: looking great on a working girl's budget

Too often find yourself in this predicament? Your regular cut and color is long overdue, yet you're short on cash. Blame it on your day job or your Dior Addict-ion; the bottom line is you need a break! How is a working girl to manage the (sometimes) hair-raising price of beauty?

Many top salons have training nights with discounted prices. During this time, the creative director supervises junior stylists while clients receive haircuts and color at a fraction of the normal cost. Not for the time crunched, these supervised services usually take longer than a regular visit.

All treatments are executed by apprentice stylists or colorists that have a minimum of two years training. All appointments must be made in person and prepaid in cash, and booked at least a week in advance. Apprentice cuts and color are performed from Noon to 8pm Monday to Friday or at 9:45am on Thursday. This salon also seeks models for complimentary blow-dry appointments every Thursday at 9:45am and 10:45am; these appointments can be made over the phone.
